[MP3 CHOICE] Sandisk Sansa Clip Plus or Sansa Clip Zip ?

Hi there.

So I got a Sansa Clip+ a really long time. It all worked fine, but I lost it. So now I wonder which one would be the best to replace it : another Clip+ or the last Clip Zip ?

I saw many different reviews online and now I'm lost. I don't know which one to choose. So, from your personal experience, which one is the best ?

The screen on the plus is super nice but the touch controls are infuriating.  If I could do it again I would consider the Zip.

The clip doesn't have touch controls, you're probably thinking of the fuze+.

No.  That isn't true.  There are 2 other important differences.

On is a BIG reason to prefer Zip over Plus unrelated to the screen.

A different POWER BUTTON SWITCH.  The Clip+ one is defective.

I've now had *three* count em *three* Clip+ failures in my family.

All because the power button stopped working, the switch separated from the PCB.  The force is at right angles to the solder joints and it isn't mechanically sound.

You can still turn them on by plugging them into the power cable...

Third reason:  Micro USB on the Zip vs Mini USB on the +.

So:

Factor (a): Which screen do you prefer.
Factor (b): Do you want to share charger cables with a cell phone.
Factor (c): Do you mind replacing it every year.

a) I've been accustomed to the Clip+'s screen for about 2 years now. But I think having a color screen might give me access to a better layout and more ease in some functionalities. 1 point for the Zip.
b) It sure is a great advantage having Micro USB, which is a highly-used port nowadays. 1 point for the Zip.
c) As I said, my Clip+ lasted two years until I lost it. And it was still fully working. With no problems at all. However, I'm not that careful with my goodies. But if you say a problem can be found in the Clip+, I guess that is another point for the Zip.

So that means I'd better get the Zip.
