creating a gap between tracks using crossfade - any ideas

I guess the obvious way is to save a short silent file and put it in between the tracks in the playlist... ?

David, I have the same requirement, but have found no solution in Rockbox. It would be great RB had an option for standard gapped playback, like J River Media Centre:
