Installing Rock Box on Sansa Clip Zip with 01.01.21A won't work

1. You are not supposed to put the firmware file to the player, Rockbox Utility does this for you.

2. How did you select the player in Rockbox Utility? Did you use autodetection?

I asked you if you were able to update the Sandisk firmware. You originally said no, but now it sounds like you may never actually have tried. So once again, what happens when you update the Sandisk firmware?  Not Rockbox, but the Sandisk firmware.

Do you think I would go through all of this without trying everything possible?

When I try/tried to just install the firmware from Sansa, without Rockbox, nothing happens. Same firmware.

If you read all the messages in this forum you'll see I'm not the only one here who is having a problem.

So...don't know where that leave this...probably nowhere.

OK if you can't update the Sandisk firmware then you cannot install Rockbox. Its literally impossible. I would try to figure out why your player refuses to update its firmware.
