Corrupt looking album art with black album covers
(1/1)
TheAlmightyGuru:
I'm using a Sansa ClipZip with today's build.
Album art usually looks fine, but I've noticed that some of my album art looks corrupt on the ClipZip. The color is off and the image is garbled the way JPGs look when they're corrupt. This only happens on a small number of my album covers, but very often on those images that are mostly black.
The files are sized to 96x96 pixels and are being loaded from the .rockbox/albumart folder.
I have tried the following to solve the problem:
* I have verified the image looks proper in multiple graphics programs.
* I have deleted the image and recreated it twice, each with different graphics programs, both still look corrupt.
* I have made a negative of the image (mostly white), and the negative displays properly.
Here are the files I'm using, perhaps someone can say if they can reproduce the problem on their ClipZip, thanks!

Rot8er_ConeX:
I've noticed this as well. I have a Sansa e260 v1, and my album art is embedded in the MP3s, so this problem isn't unique to his player or albumart location, though it may be unique to Sansas.
TheAlmightyGuru:
Thanks for the information Rot8er_ConeX. It sounds like this is a legitimate bug. Can any of the programmers/admins explain to me what I should do next on this issue?
