Hello again  :)

I am no programmer but,
Sorry, after a lot of tryouts I resetted Rockbox, even installed todays last version , so it had no more backdrop on:
_then i got no skipping at all,
_added the Backdrop and sure it goes.
did it many times, cautiously with different options on and off, such as directory cache, EQ various setups, buffering til 10mn,rebooting every time. Couldn't get rid of the Peak meters with adding a new .wps file copied from your attic.
Maybe I should be modding a light .wps with my .pmp as an only option. But I can't really tell if it is going top be taken in account as "playing" them (referring to manual) doesn't really seem to work.

(some posts kind of suggest Rockbox on iPod video has still some resource improvements to be done)

Well I just removed the %pm line from a small .wps file I copied that has default values and the peak meters are gone now..
   .  . ...and guess what: the clipping hasn't been coming back on my test songs yet "-)

so -> Peak Merters or Backdrop seems to be the dilemna, for the moment probably.

But honestly please prove me wrong and I'll be glad to have my peak meters back, they are cute.
