Problems installing
« on: May 31, 2006, 03:33:24 PM »
Ok, here are the exact steps I take.

1.  I format my ipod video using FAT32
2. I type C: cd \rockbox
3. I'm in the directory, I type ipodpatcher 1  (thats the one that works for me)
4. I dl ipodpatcher.exe, bootloader-video.bin, and ipod fw.exe.  And copy them all to my rockbox directory
5. With all the files there (the files were there before I did step 3) I type
ipodpatcher -r 1 bootpartition.bin
6. I then type ipodpatcher -w 1 rockboot.bin

I get an error message "rockboot.bin: no such file or directory

Help!

I notice that you didn't do _any_ of the ipod_fw steps. Those are the ones that create rockboot.bin.
Where are you getting instructions from that don't tell you to do the ipod_fw steps?

It _does_ say "Back to all users again" ;)

In fact, I specifically added that bit just so people would know not to skip those steps. :)
