Has RockBox been tested to work with ihome or any other iPod devices?

Thanks.

Well thats a shame.  There are some definatly neat functions that I would like to use with my iPod, but if it becomes incompatable with my iHome or any future car accessories.....well then I don't think it would be an option for me.

Thanks.

It's a pity that incompatibility with other devices makes people shy away,
( i suppose switching back to the apple os isnt really an option)
Manufacturers should be made aware of rockbox when making their items, they would be able to have so much more options then, than they do with apple os (who knows maybe when rockbox is finished and for end users)

Ah, well, consider me a tester for the iHome! I have an iHome, in my room, next to my bed, and music plays fine on it! The only problem is that when your music is not playing, and your iPod is lying dormant for a while, it restarts, over, and over, and over. It doesnt affect the iPod performance once you take it off however, and the restarts are about once every 20 minutes. Other then that, it works like a charm!

Careful with those restarts. Read the thread about knackering the player through constant reboots.

Read also that what messed up his player was ACTUALLY the faulty power supply. While the constant reboots could potentially be bad for it, most likely it'll be putting wear on the HD drive. He burnt out something else, because of a bad charger.

You can play the next song or the previous song on it using the remote?

Ya probably your best bet to be safe is buy the power accessories from apple or from a company which they ipod car power supplies have a good customer review..

Yet again it would be great for all of these accessories for the ipod to be compatable with rockbox, but maybe it will be in the future, we just have got to wait...

No, it doesnt change the song with the remote, but, eh, oh well.

I found that just switching back to the original OS after you are done with playing your songs eliminates the reboots, obviously.

Sorry for the delayed response ^^
