Smart playlists ?
« on: December 23, 2013, 05:44:21 AM »
Hi,

Do you plan to add smart playlist feature to rockbox ?

(For instance: SMart playlist that auto add  track that contains "nonob" in "comment" filed).

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that this can already be done using the Database.

I can search this field in database but not save a dynamic smart playlist...

What's the difference?

A dynamic smart playlist would need to contain any track with "nonob" in the comment tag.
And a pre-defined search for "nonob" in the comment tag from Database would (as far as I can see) do the same thing.

Absolutely :)

Here's the Wiki page for how to do this: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/DataBase
Since I don't use the Database, I can't step you through what you'd need to do, but I'm sure someone in IRC can help if you get stuck.

On this page, i can read this feature request:

Playlists

Ability to create smart playlists on the fly. Something like songs between 1980 and 1990 by Bruce Springsteen with "People" in the title, or something based on ratings with an added random factor.

I didn't found how create custom search, maybe "custom view" ?...
