Rockbox'd my Clip +
« on: December 21, 2013, 04:17:03 PM »
After few iccups, finally got it done.
Loving the massive changes, ton's of stuff.
Anyway, noticed that every so often it will crash i.e freeze.
What is causing this?
Thank you

Maybe, But thought the more experienced on here would know?
I upgraded the original firmware to the latest last release, then rockbox'd his ass lol.
I will rockbox my son's without updating original firmware and see if it is that causing the issue.
Any views on this?

UPDATE AFTER THIS ABOVE POST:-

I connected player via usb and started EASEUS partition master home edition in order to format the player, of which i did as i never trust window own format.
Then i safely disconnected the usb and message came up asking to connect to usb, of which i did, the screen then shown Bootloader USB
I then proceeded to run the ROCKBOX UTILITY and start flash again.
Now the player loads much faster, No slowness, music playing well, no freezing, which would have been doing so if i had left it.
I will leave 2 days of playing and come back so i know for sure this method i chose worked.
Best wishes

I have one issue.
Player works very well.
BUT if i leave over night as you would, i have to basically reset the device.
When i press power button it simply will not turn on.
I have to hold for approx 20 seconds, then release and leave it a further approx 5 seconds, then when i press power button it will boot straight away.
I presume this is a common thing with this and not just my device.
What is the fix for it if any?
Thank you

Also flashed one of my Clips. However i am missing some features. I would like to have that Volume option i get with the standard firmware, choosing between the restricted volume and the full volume. And i would like the standard play screen that's on the standard firmware.

By the way if i regret Rockboxing my Clip is there a way to go back to stock?

Thanks!

If you hold the "left" key while you turn it on, it boots to the stock firmware.
