Rockbox sucks when displaying photos

Rockbox is so awesome but it SUCK when displaying photos! Has to render each one before it loads! and its much smaller than when using normal apple software. Is there any way to improve it?

Not sure what you mean, it allows you to zoom and pan, things the iPod firmware doesnt.

It takes long to load and when they do load they don't fill the screen like they do in the normal software. I don't mean to complain as I love rockbox but i just don't find that it displays photo's nicely

If i'm not wrong the apple firmware display thumb from the original picture... that is why is faster... RockBox display the original picture then you can make zoom on it :-)

i reckon rockbox is awesome for pictures, i can read webcomics on the go now using the image viewers zoom and pan features

Rockbox for pictures is great!

I can view my pdfs!!!

If you want to have full screen(when you open your pictures) you have to resize them to a specific size...(Can somebody give it please I think it has to be a factor *2 /*4/*6)

Or just resize to the size of the ipod 5g screen and it will load fast and fullscreen!

It's just a hastle resizing +- 2000 photo's...

not when you use a program called Irfan View, it has batch processing which allows u to resize as many pictures as u want in a go

you just install it, open up irfan view thumb nails navigate to where ur pictures are in the program then click open for batch dialog, and theres like a tick box for advanced settings in the window somewhere, so you can choose what size to resize everything to, along with converting them to jpeg
plus its a freeware

You can also use MIR.net in win... Multiple Image Resizer.net is a freeware with frame works... really good :-) and easy to use... google it

Corius - What resolution do you resize your Photos to?? I resized them to 320x240 and they do load faster but the quality is much worse (im not zooming or panning or anything)

I never said i resized mine, i just pointed you in the direction of a resizer, i just chuck the pictures on ther and use the zoom and pan, dont quote me on this but isnt it like 320x240 the right size for what your after?
or is that just for videos, my mind is just saying 320x240 (pfft i realise i didnt actually help and only reiterated what settings you said you were using, and i sounded bitchy gah. sorry bout that )

I would say resize to 640*480 so you can zoom in if you need to.

I don't know what OS your using (WindowsXP, I suppose), but search the Microsoft site for Powertoys Image Resizer, that gives a resize option in the right-click menu, and can batch resize pics to common sizes, or custom sizes.  It works nicely for me.
