I just got to thinking since the eclipse 2.8 has the same button as an ipod does anyone think it would be possable to load ipod touch firmware on it and has a very very cheap ipod?

No, the physical appearance of a device is irrelevant.  If you want to begin development for your player, see:  http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/NewPort

Otherwise, you'll have to make do with whatever firmware it came with.

Well I might do that, I know the appearance doesn't matter but could I somehow use the android port since both devices are touch I could just convert the format right?

Or I could just start messing around with firmwares and try to coxnvert them, I mean I dislike apple but just to have a ipod touch firmware would be nice I figure something out thanks for your help

 I need helpwith a question how do I find the file format that the eclipse 2.8v is. You know how the android file format is. Apk what is the file format for the eclipse?

Its not possible to convert an ipod firmware to run on anything but the device it was made for.  Thats just not how computers work.

I think from your questions here it is not realistic for you to do any of what you want.  You should either make do with the software you have or just buy a player that does what you want.
