Mpgviewer iPod 6th Gen
« on: November 29, 2013, 11:10:04 PM »
Hi, I am having trouble getting videos to play on rockbox. I've converted them to mpg format, and when I play them in rockbox all I get is a black screen. I then have to restart rockbox which doesn't help either. Any way to fix this? Do I need to download a patch or anything?

I've tried turning it off. That didn't help. I downloaded WinFF to help convert to rockbox format, so hopefully this works. I've also converted a video to mp4 to see if that changes anything.

I downloaded WinFF, but it didn't have the preset for rockbox iPod 6th gen :/ Any suggestions as to how to make videos play on my iPod?

The preset for any other 320x240 pixel screen should work.  The ipod video or gigabeat for instance.

Does this mean videos play on the 6G? I've not found anything on http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodClassicPort about video but was curiously looking for something when I came across this.

On my Ipod Classic 7G it also does not work.  I tried it with the Elephant Dream. Same Problem as thread starter.

On Ipod Classic 5G videos play really badly too.The FPS maximum reaches 18. I've readed that the problem exists cause of the conflict between Rockbox and integrated Apple video processor. Is it possible to solve this problem in the future?
By the way, Elephant Dream plays with 30 FPS. I've tried to apply recommended video presets in Elephant Dream to any other video and convert form FLV, but nothing really changes :(

Thats actually a Video, not a Classic, so different player than is being discussed in this thread.

No, the processor is too slow to go faster, and it is not possible to use the apple video processor.
