audio_reset_buffer_noalloc(): Error while trying to playback music files........

(1/1)

sirobit81:
Hi all,

I bought the 4GB Sansa Clip + player (+ a 16GB Sandisk microSD card) 2 yrs back & Rockboxed it 1 yr back (ver 3.12) when my .m4a files became a considerable size. (have about 2000 .mp3 files but 6000 .m4a files) All was working fine till last week when I thought of upgrading the Rockbox firmware as it was not reporting the no of music files correctly, nor was scanning all the files.

So I did the follwoing steps:
1. Formatted both the Sansa & the SD card (Full, not Quick format)
2. Checked both for File system errors, but nothing cud be found.
3. Did a fresh Installation of the latest Rockbox firmware, ver 3.13, on the Sansa Clip+
4. Once It booted up successfully, configured the same as per the guiddelines I found in the forum (Disable Directory Cache, Raise all Limits to max, & other personal preference settings)
5. Initialized the database, & thru the Debug mode saw that the full 8000 songs are getting scanned & committed successfully into the database. (System->Debug->View Database Info->Progress showed the full 8000 Entries).

Then my problems started. I started facing the same below mentioned audio_reset_buffer_noalloc(): issue whether I try to play all files thru the Database-> Tracks way or when i try to play the music files folder by folder.

*panic
audio_reset_buffer_noalloc(): EOM (4422972 > 3339700)
pc: 30037BC4 sp:300AB66
     A: 30037C40
     A: 30037FC8

I noted that after this error happens, the Database properties showed 0 entries, even if I reboot my Sansa without playing any files the database properties show 0 entries, while after successful initialization it showed all the 8000 entries.
But, while trying to play all files thru the Database->Tracks way, it is showing all the files, (even when the System->Debug->View Database Info->Progress showed 0 entries), asking for Dynamic playlist erase confirmation, then searching & finding all files, then just when starting playback , this *panic error comes.

I thought the issue may be with a faulty SD card, so I removed the card, & tried, but same issue.
Next, I thought since I was using 3.12 ver before without any issues, lets try that, So I again did a fresh installation of the Rockbox 3.12 in the Sansa & tried, but same issue.
Lastly, since I was unable to play a single music file thru rockbox fiirmaware, I checked to see if the original firmware was working fine, & booted it to Sansa.
this time it was a great success, the Clip+ scanned all of my 2000 .mp3 files, & played it without a single issue.
Am still playing it.

The main reason I Rockboxed my Sansa was to listen to my big collection of .m4a files, which right now I am unable to.
Though after using Rockbox, I have quite literally fallen in love with it, & I really praise & appreciate all the Rockbox devolopers, who did really a great job. So plzzz help me to get my listening passion enabled agaiin, my request to all the Rockbox experts out there..

Kindly help...
