H340 will not boot after upgrade attempt - HOLD switch on, power off...

(1/1)

keenst:
Hi
I have tried to install a SSD on my H340 following recommendations in some of the threads here (Kingspec 128Gig).
However, I am now stuck as neither the new SDD nor the old HD will boot in any way.
I get the message:
"Rockbox bootloader version 5
HOLD switch on, power off..."
And then it powers off.
I have tried to wipe the disks, reformat in Windows, Mac, Linux... but it's stuck.
Any suggestions are gladly received!
Regards

wodz:
The message 'HOLD switch on' should give you a clue.

keenst:
Yes, that's what I thought, but in that case, what should I hold? Keeping the on-button pressed doesn't help - it switches off after a few seconds. Same for all the other buttons.

Julian67:
"HOLD" is not an instruction, it's a reference to the switch called "the hold switch"  ;)

Looking front on at the H340 it's the sliding switch on the right facing surface, with the legend "<- HOLD" embossed just below it.  Slide it.....

keenst:
Gah, thank you! I completely failed to see it, probably because it is all in bits waiting to be reassembled, so I just looked at the front panel.
Now I can move on and hopefully make it work again.
Thank you very much for your help!
