48Khz FLAC playback, which device supports
« on: November 21, 2013, 10:04:24 AM »
Looking for a simple answer, as I am looking to buy a new portable player. Doing a google search in general, can't seem to find an OEM player with this feature. Disappointed none of the COWON players have this playback support. No down sampling of 48Khz unless the sample rate is already lower. I'd be excited to install this software onto any player that can get me in that direction.

The config files are the definitive source for what sample rates will work in rockbox:

http://git.rockbox.org/?p=rockbox.git;a=tree;f=firmware/export/config

If a device lists SAMPR_CAP_48, it should do 48k.  If not, it won't in rockbox (either because we haven't figured out how or more likely that its not possible).

IIRC the Cowon players based on the coldfire chipset do not have the right clock dividers to hit 24/48/96, and can only do 22/44/88.
