Chip

Ok guys, I need to make sure that the OS is on the 8GB chip and not the CPU chip. The prison(federal) version of the clip plus player, VER. 01.02.23A OS is real flaky, it has the recording and SDcard disabled and some other features. These things die and brick if you look at them funny, I believe it is from sloppy coding from whomever came up with the code that is sold on the player. I have some working ones, but due to the "anti-theft" built into it, which basically is the inmates name and the player expires after 14 days, the player is no good unless one can revalidate it. These players I have, the guys went home an are useless, since they cannot be revalidated. But, if the OS is stored on the 8GB chip, then I could swap out the broken players mem chip for the working one, and hopefully be good to go. Very primitive tools, but I think I can get it done. Sure would be nice to rockbox it, but no joy. So, I'd appreceiate if someone could reconfirm that the OS is stored on the MEM chip, and not the CPU. I cannot remove the CPU, but the MEM chip is doable. L8r!
