Clip Zip Not Turning On
(1/1)
kombatkiwi:
I have had this Clip Zip for a few months (I rockboxed it basically straight after I got it) and almost right from the start I noticed a problem that it would often just turn off without warning. It was only when pressing buttons (usually navigating the menu) so I could normally get some music to play after a couple of tries and then I would just leave it alone and it would be fine. Now it won't turn on at all. Everything is fine when I connect to a PC but once I eject and unplug it, it immediately turns off again. Does anybody know any solution to this problem? I'm hoping it isn't hardware related but from the symptoms it seems like it might be.

Sounds like one of the wires that connect to the battery inside the Clip Zip is broken. Of all the things I've had to do to keep the various Sansa's I've had in the past working, this is the one repair I've done more than any others.
Crack the case and inspect the wires. If one is broken, you'll have to solder it back on to get your device working again.
