ps: but what about thats patch and situation described in thats topic?
http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12522
- maybe its posible to port this patch for my 5.5G?

saratoga:
That's a patch for detecting a charger. I don't think it's related to your issue. And anyway as I said before no software change will matter if the player is off.

Talon:
...sadly to hear it (
tnx saratoga!

[Saint]:
You issue (almost certainly) points to one of two things.

1: Battery
2: Some form of severe board failure

1 is the obvious candidate, if you have never replaced this battery, it has most certainly reached the end of its useful life. It is also the cheapest option to replace.
If, however, the battery is NOT the cause...there is pretty much no point in reviving this device. It would cost more to replace the mainboard than it would to buy another 5/5.5G second hand.

The reason I present these two candidates as options is as such.

The iPods are rather robust, and can still boot when they are missing a fairly remarkable amount of hardware. The hold switch, the clickwheel, hell...not even the HDD are required for this device to boot. So a complete and total inability to boot in this device either points to something very obvious (battery), or something more sinister.

hm...
as i seen... and with my lucky... - its something sinister...
- player looks to safetly used.... - and it worked normal with any another function after manualy pressing "menu" or 'ok'

but... - tnx for some new one posibility to resolve my issue! - i'm try to find and change battery!... - and maybe... )
