problem installing rockbox on ipod 120gb classic
(1/1)
manish bhardwaj:
Hi
i am trying to install rockbox on ipod 120gb classic using windows 7 starter edition. I managed to install till the point :
"Download the "rockbox-ipodclassic.zip" file from the emCORE Releases page" on the http://www.freemyipod.org/wiki/EmCORE_Installation/iPodClassic/UMSboot page. The next step asks to extract the file to the ipod root folder. Basically I cannot access the root folder to extract the files there. Infact windows asks to format the ipod drive.
On a youtube video about this installation I found that the ipod needs to enabled for disk use prior to the installation process. This is something I did not do as it was not mentioned on the Freemyipod installation guide.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me fix this.
Many thanks
Manish

Its not mentioned there because it is irrelevant, this will achieve exactly nothing.

Hi guys,
It would be great to hear from you on how to fix the problem. A working ipod is much better than a dead one!
Thanks
Manish
