Did you follow the uninstallation process in the manual?

Could you be more clear about what you are trying to achieve?

Mount point does not exist sounds like you need to set the correct drive letter for the player.

Is the Rockbox bootloader already installed on the device?

That is to say when you power on the device does it attempt to load Rockbox or does it go straight into the sansa firmware?

You say you had it installed once before, I can assume that the bootloader is still installed.

So, I would imagine all you need to do is copy the .rockbox folder to the device.

To simplify this process, remove any unneeded USB devices from your computer.  Also remove the MicroSD card from the sansa player.

Connect the player to the computer and attempt to browse to the device.

Obtain its drive letter.

Now start the RB util.

On the top right of the utility, ensure the selected device model matches your device model.

Ensure that "mountpoint" is the same drive letter you just obtained.

If it does not match click "change" and make the necessary adjustments.

Under the "rockbox version to install"  choose either the stable version or the development version.  You are concerned about the panic aborts.  If you had these aborst with the stable version I suggest you try the development version.  However, the names would suggest that you'll have the most luck with the stable version ;)

[Once again, I am going to assume that you have the bootloader already installed]

Uncheck "bootloader"
check "rockbox"
check "fonts"
uncheck "themes"
uncheck "games"

click install.

after some time, if it worked, you can test your device.

if all went well you can reconnect the device, uncheck everything and check "themes" if they are desirable.

1)  Select the drive letter that is your player
2)  Use periods to divide your posts into sentences so that other people can understand you.

OK but that still doesn't tell me how do like the last person said to get the file to put on the player.
I did the drive F that one has to be the player & it makes me do the autodetect & the Rocbox Ulitity closes down every time & I don't know what to do to stop that from happening

So you do need to apply the bootloader again.

Does the Utility close if you were try to install the bootloader?

If the Utility keeps crashing, can you try using a different computer to install Rockbox?

There is also a manual method to install Rockbox to your player without using the Utility.

I'm pretty certain the Rockbox User Manual for your model describes how to do a manual installation.

yes the Utility does close when I try yo install anything.
I tried a different computer the program seemed to work on the laptop I tried but there was one problem it didn't detect the mp3 player at all & I tried 2 different USB ports.

You need to be more specific here. How exactly looks "close"? When exactly does it happen? What button did you press before that "close" happened? Which version of Rockbox Utility are you using after all?

Also, try a development version of Rockbox Utility. You can find it at http://tinyurl.com/rbutil-dev
