Rockbox for Zen X Fi
« on: November 12, 2013, 10:56:06 AM »
Dear users and developers,

I have been seeing some posts regarding this mp3 player, also I am aware that there isn't as of today any working firmware for this machine, also progress comes along everyday, is it possible someday or is it close a working solution for Zen?

Saratoga, thanks for the link, so is better not to install the Rockbox Fw, even though the latest fw from Creative dates back to 98 :(

No one said that...

What that page *is* saying however, is that this is an unstable work in progress and that you are installing it and using it at your own risk. You need to decide if the potential benefits outweigh the risk, we can't do that for you.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

Don't despair, pamaury the no1 Rockbox developer is working on this. I have a Zen X Fi and tried this port out.

It does work but has a bright white backlight/display issue after a few minutes of use, you get it if you enable the caption backlight or press a button after the backlight goes off.

It will be best to hang on until this issue is fixed at least, but knowing pamaury is the developer it won't be long to wait.  ;)

Rockboxed Daps:-
Pinephone (RaaA), Benjie T6, Sony NWZ-E384 (good), Samsung YP-R0 (the best rockbox player), Creative Zen X -Fi, Sansa clip+, Sansa Fuze+ x2 (good for rockbox games) , Creative Zen X-Fi2 , Unbranded Rk27xx Dap (I need to fix the buttons)
