niko88:
Hello, my macbook pro doesn't work with my iPod.
Ipod: a2138, emCore 0.2.3 r859, rockbox f265a0f-130729
Macbook: MD212, 13inch, os - 10.9

when I connect the player - the notebook does not respond, but after a while doesn't work as long as I do not disconnect the player.

Sorry, I'm very bad speaking an English.

This is a known issue, though I am unsure how clearly Freemyipod states this, or if it is stated at all.

To cut this short, there's nothing you can do about it unless you're willing to check out the Rockbox source code and compile Rockbox for yourself with different USB Vendor/Product keys.

Basically, the Mac is trying to be reasonably smart. It sees the VID/PID and knows that it is an iPod, but can't do anything with it because Rockbox doesn't support the iPod Accessory Protocol on this device (one of many reasons why it is still classed as an "unusable" port). Nor can you force the iPod into Disk Mode on the Classic.

There's basically two options:

1 - Don't use a Mac.
2 - Compile Rockbox from source with a different VID/PID combination.

Thank you, but could you tell me how to compile it for yourself? may have articles that describe it in detail?
