EQ changes require playback to be re-started to take effect (Sansa Clip+)

(1/1)

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I hope I have posted this topic in the correct forum category. If not, please let me know where it should go.

On my Rockboxed Sansa Clip+, changing between EQ presets requires playback to be restarted to take effect.

Unless of course if I feel like waiting about 17 seconds for the EQ preset to take effect after I initiate the EQ preset change. But that is just a bit too slow for me.

If I'm using the Equalizer > Graphical EQ, Everything works in realtime, but only after 17 seconds of waiting after the first parameter change.

This is with the lastest Rockbox version 3.13

So, I still like Rockbox, but, I have to restart playback everytime I want to change my EQ preset. So it's great, but it could be better if I learned to program the thing.

This problem occurs if I'm playing 192kbps mp3's from the Sansa Clip+'s internal 8GB storage, or from my external 16GB micro SD card.

No, it doesn't. You said so yourself.

But then we get to

Which confuses me as I'm willing to bet that stopping playback, navigating to the EQ, changing the EQ, and then restarting playback again takes as long as - or longer than - waiting for your changes to apply themselves. Which brings us to the rather less exciting "Rockbox works exactly as intended, but not as fast as I would like it to". I'm not sure what to say.

Saint,

Thanks very much for your response. I don't really care about this topic. I am in the process of learning to build and program Rockbox with C, and I will eventually make myself a nice, fast mp3 player with effects...

So, forget about it.

I do not mean to confuse you. Have a great day.

Playback Settings > Crossfade > Enable Crossfade = Off

This sped up the Graphic EQ to realtime. Nice.
