Hi, apologies about the lengthy first post, I wanted to be detailed. I didn’t see a similar issue mentioned in the FAQ hope I haven’t missed anything.
I have attempted to install Rockbox on a new Sansa Zip Clip. When installing I checked the bootloader, rockbox, fonts and game options. The firmware on the Zip Clip was originally 01.01.21 but as this doesn’t appear to be compatible I just downloaded and selected the .20 firmware when prompted. The installation appeared to complete without error with the final line reading “Package installation finished successfully” and there were no error messages in the installation log. (I don’t know if this is significant but the Utility’s own eject function hasn’t once worked but I’ve been safely removing it using windows.) When I unplugged the player an updating files (not an updating firmware) message appeared. As I hadn’t read the instructions properly I turned the player off manually after the window disappeared. Now rockbox doesn’t load when I turn on the player.
As a fix, I installed the older .20 firmware on my player and reattempted the installation. Again the dialogue box says completed successfully but nothing happens when I detach the player.
