Extremely slow transfer rate to iPod Classic (6th gen)

I've been using the ipod 6th generation rockbox firmware.
I realize it it's not a stable build, but I've been using it for quite a while with no problems.

Recently though, it's been taking ungodly amounts of time to put files on it.
I've reformatted the ipod, reinstalled the software (it even worked well a few times temporarily).
I simply don't know what to do at this point.
