Installation on Sansa e280

Hello, fellow rockboxers.

I've been using rockbox on a e250r for a few years, and I just ordered a e280 that should arrive in a couple of days. I want to install rockbox once it arrives, but I'm unsure exactly how to go about it. I'm given to believe that I would use the same version that is used for the e200 series, as I see no version specifically identified as being made for the e280 model, but I know of people who use rockbox on the e280. Now, I know that I'll have to check the version of the sansa and install the non-rhapsody version of the firmware, but other than that, I just want to make sure that the firmware for the e200 should be used. I suppose I'll use the installer if at all possible. I did a manual the first time around, and it was tedious.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

e200 is the generic name. e280 is the name of the 8GB variant within that series.

You might get either an e280v1 or an e280v2, which although they look the same are entirely different devices internally. The best way forward is to just use Rockbox Utility and let it autodetect the player.
