'Nested' playlists

I have a number of playlists in iTunes that sit in folders, within folders, (and potentially another folder) with each folder being effectively a group of the playlists within it and can be played as such; I've not been able to mimic this in RockBox as one of these 'stages' are based on iTunes ratings. I have read http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/1982 and have attempted to apply this patch using these instructions http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/WorkingWithPatches but with no success (possibly due to RockBox having moved on but more like due to my failing). Before I push on with trying this can I ask if anyone has had any success with 'nested', or similar, playlists in Rockbox, and also is this old patch going to be compatible with what is, I assume, a newer version of Rockbox?

That patch is a few months short of 10 years old.  If it were a couple months old you'd have a good chance of getting it to work.

I have no idea if we ever added support for nesting m3u files.  If you try it and it doesn't work, my guess is no.
