problems finding sansa clip+ firmware

hi there!

I'm going crazy, I've tried with many files from sansa webpage, but rockbox utility is always telling me that I have not the right one.  There are messages like this one: [ERR] OF File provided is Clip+v1 version 01.02.15, not for Clipv1

That is a Clip+, so you will need a Clip+ firmware file. 

Edit:  The message you posted above refers to a Clip, not a Clip+.  Did you try to install the wrong rockbox version?

yes, I think I have the right one. Linux version, right architecture, everything...

no, I can not get to install it, but you're right, the message that I posted is only one of the different messages I got trying different options in the utility. Now I've checked the error message for the cilp+:

patching firmware...
could not write firmware file.

Post the output of the Help / Troubleshooting / System Trace dialog after the error occurs.

I'm having a similar problem with my husband's Sansa Clip+.  The version I have is 01.02.17A, and I downloaded OF Version 01.01.35, but it's not installing. Do I need to format the player?  Thanks you in advance.

01.01.35 is not a clip+ firmware file. You probably clicked the wrong link. You need to use a clip plus firmware file.
