Can't reliably play playlists on Sansa e250

(1/1)

comporanger:
I'm running the latest version of RockBox on a Sansa e250. I use MediaMonkey to create and sync a playlist to the Sansa. I boot the player, go to playlist catalogue, and select one. I am then presented with my playlist. I select the first song; for a fraction of a second the player appears to start a song, then it will stop and revert to the playlist catalogue screen. Has anyone had an issue like this or any idea what might be causing this behavior? There is also a certain randomness to it, as sometimes the player will go on through the playlist without any problem. Could improper tagging of mp3 files cause it? Any thoughts would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

If the files referenced in the playlist aren't actually present they'll be skipped.  If the playlist contains no files that actually exist you'll see what you described.

comporanger:
I understand - the thing is, the music files are there, and I can see them on the player when I browse through the folders. It's as though the playlist can find the files at first, and play through without a problem. Then suddenly it will start acting as though there are no files there, as you were saying. Sometimes a reboot seems to help. Is my hardware unstable or something?
