Fuze new power problem

(1/4) > >>

luisdent:
I have a fuze v2 I got a few weeks ago brand new in the box.  Rockbox has been working amazingly well, but a few times the device has either shut off or frozen (I can't tell as there is no indication of power).  It wouldn't turn back on using the power button.  I tried holding the power button for over five minutes once.  Nothing.  The first time this happened I was able to get it back on by plugging it into the computer and it turned itself on.  The battery had been fully charged, so this wasn't because the battery was dead.

More recently this has happened and even plugging it into the computer didn't turn it back on.  Holding the power button didn't turn it back on not matter how long.  Again, the battery was in the 90% range.  I basically just waited a half hour and tried again and it came back on.

Is there anything else I can do when this happens?

It happened again last night while checking out themes.  I got an "exception" number error and it turned off.  I didn't have my cable and i couldn't turn it back on no matter what.  I got my cable again today, and if seems to turn on if i plug it into power, hold the power button for ten seconds or so and release then wait a few seconds and press the power button again to turn it on...

It happened again right now.  I listened to my fuze v2 about 2 hours ago.  Paused the song, switched the power switch to hold and watched it shut off.  Went to use it now and it won't turn on no matter what I do (except hopefully plugging it in).  The battery was in the 80% range too.

UPDATE:  Oh great.  I spoke to soon.  I plugged it into the computer and it still won't turn on.  I held the power button everywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes and it won't turn on.  I really don't want to go back to my ipod, but this isn't getting old. :-/  It seems once a day it just decides to shut off and not turn back on.

ONE MORE UPDATE:  O.k. I got it back on, but I didn't do anything differently.  I just repeat the "hold power for 30 seconds, release, press power button again" a bunch of times and it just decided to turn on.  The batter is right where I left it at 82%.  Nay ideas why this is happening?

Saratoga to the rescue? ;)

Anybody?  Someboday!?  AhhhhhhH! :-P

It happened again yesterday and still won't turn on.  I've tried power button for 10 minutes, plugged in power button holding, you name it.  Nothing.  I think the amp is on when I plug in headphones, but it's hard to tell.

Is there anyway this could be addressed?  It usually happens if I switch themes or something like that.  I get an error code and it freezes and then the screen goes off.  No response after that.  It's very frustrating to not have my player for a few days.
