Sansa Clip+: SD Card Sizes and Format, and Working on OSX
(1/1)
Joshpho:
Hi guys,
I'm getting a Sansa Clip soon and am hoping to run Rockbox on it, along with managing and music and so forth on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7.5 . Two questions
1) Will I be able to use a 64GB card on the clip, like this? http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Class-Memory-SF64UY-TQMN/dp/B00B7ID9CU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375500563&sr=8-2&keywords=64gb+SDXC
2) I've read on posts similar to this question (but on a Windows setup) saying that the card should be formatted as FAT32. Is this the same for managing/using Rockbox on the Sansa Clip on OSX, or should I use a different partition? Any other quirks to watch out for when using OSX for this setup?
Thanks for any help.

1. You need a microSDXC card, not a regular one. This one works great for me: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter-SDSDQU-064G-AFFP-A/dp/B009QZH6JS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375616352&sr=8-1&keywords=64gb+micro+SDXC
2. Rockbox only supports FAT32, so that's the one you should be going for. OSX's disk utility will set it up correctly.
