iPod 5.5 doesnt start when assembled
(1/1)
HankJW:
Hello there, dear rockbox forum!
I am asking you guys for help about a very odd problem with my ipod 5.5:
My iPod doesnt start properly (in other words, it shows me the dead ipod logo on a white screen) when it is full back together. But when I open the ipod (as in removing the back cover, putting in aside (but leaving all the cable connected), taking out the hard drive and battery (those leaving connected as well)) and try to start it, it does start and is able to play music and work normally in general. However, after it is on and I put it back together it stops working again and rockbox is simply stuck.
After doing the restart with menu+middle button it shows me the dead ipod logo again.
And before questions appear: Yes, I bought a new hdd cable. And I bought a new headphone jack cable thingy. And the hard drive seems to work properly.
(note, the problem with not starting already was present before I changed said parts.)
Well, I am clueless.
Thanks in advance,
HankJW

Hi HankJW,
maybe the connector on the logic board is the problem.
Have you tried to do a bit of glue (hot melt or second) on the kabel, to retain ?
Be carefully only a little bit!!!

Seems like the problem was somehow software related...
After I connected to my pc and let it sit for a few minutes it suddenly works again...
