SID files crash rockbox
« on: July 12, 2013, 03:18:34 PM »
I love the possibilities that rockbox supplies, among that being able to play SID and MOD files.

However, many SID files crash rockbox. The same tunes in MOD format works fine.

This is a bit awkward since I never really know which file crashed rockbox, and the songs are great too, played on my laptop.

Is this a known issue? I use an iPod nano 2g rockbox 3.10.

Post a link to a file that crashes SID playback.

ok. You need to remove the .txt on the attached file.

btw, what happens is that the iPod get silent and then you need to reboot in order to play any type of audio.

I don't know anything about side files, just pointing out that you should post a file if you want any chance of help.

ok, thanks.

Where can I check to see if this is a confirmed bug for an iPod nano 2g with Rockbox 3.10?

We have a bug tracker ;ink on the left side of your screen.  FWIW I just tried that file and it does not play in the current version of the rockbox simulator, so its not specific to the iPod.

That is actually good news.

I can not find anything related in the bug tracker. Should I post a bug report on this or how does it work?
