Fuze+ won't turn on. Stuck on USB Bootloader mode screen.

Hello,
Not sure what happened to this thing. It used to work okay.
Now pressing the power button won't turn the unit on.
When the USB cable is connected a screen comes up that says:
Boot version: 1.0
arg=CAFEBABE addr=40000000
USB: Connecting
Bootloader USB Mode
Then it just hangs... It does allow me to access the players internal memory, but not the SD Card.
I've tried to reinstall rockbox, but I can't turn on the orignal firmware in order to do the firmware update. I've tried updating rockbox and deleting the .rockbox folder hoping it would boot to the original firmware.
I'm unsure what else I can try... any suggestions?

From the Manual page21:
It is also possible to connect your player to your computer using the original firmware.
To do so you may press and hold the Volume Down button and connect your device to
the computer while keeping the Volume Down button pressed. After 5 to 10 seconds
the original firmware should boot into USB mode.
Maybe that can help you

There is/was a bug/inconvenience in bootloader. Exactly what you describe.
I try to avoid the player runs out of battery. In that case one has to use charging in OF, as described in previos post.
I mostly charge in time, when some energy is left. Switch on player, stop playing to decrease consumption and plug it into USB charger.
