Installation of talk files to Micro SD Card
comporanger:
I'm trying to install talk clips on a Sansa Clip Zip so the folders and filenames can be voiced. I'm using a 32 GB Micro SD and I would like to be able to voice all the files on it. The Rockbox installer doesn't seem to be able to do this directly to the SD card- it will only point you to the internal memory and folders on the actual player - not the external memory. I have found a somewhat inconvenient workaround, but I wonder if there is a simpler way I've missed?

I've never tried this, but I believe you just load rbutil, then choose > Accessibility > Create Talk Files > Select your SD card.

That's what I've been doing, but it only shows me the folders in the internal memory. I can't see how I'm supposed to select the files on the SD card; that is, the card doesn't show up in rbutil as a folder you can select.

You mean the SD card doesn't show up in Windows (or whatever operating system you're using)? If so, you'll need to figure out why that is before you can install things to it :)
Edit: Rereading this I suspect you've picked the wrong mount point for your device. Again, I've never actually tried this so I could be completely wrong, but I believe if you want to install something to your SD card, the mount point becomes the SD card. My guess is that you're selecting some other device, hence you can't select folders on the SD card.

You can't select the mountpoint / drive letter here. Rockbox Utility assumes the player to only have one, which obviously doesn't fit if the player has an external memory card.
You can trick Rockbox Utility by temporarily selecting the SD card as mountpoint in the configuration dialog. You could then even install it, but that would be pointless since Rockbox would end up on the SD card and as such not be found by the bootloader.
