Additional Requirements for Ubuntu Build
« on: June 12, 2013, 10:13:46 PM »
Greetings,

I have successfully built my own version using Ubuntu 13.04 (following the guide at http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/LinuxSimpleGuideToCompiling), but wanted to add that I had to also install the following utilities before rockboxdev.sh would run successfully:

  • automake
  • libtool
  • flex
  • bison

Perhaps the wiki entry could be updated to reflect the possible need of those tools.

Thanks!

Feel free, it is a wiki.

Its done now. Its something I was actually meaning to do myself for a while, and seeing this post reminded me of it. I also added ccache (to speed up builds after the initial build dramatically), and libsdl1.2-dev for the simulators.

Thanks.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
