Sansa Fuze Rockbox has weird volume fluctuations
(1/1)
DrSpychology:
I got a Sansa Fuze v2 with a 64gb MicroSD card a couple of months back, and I've been loving it. However, there seems to be something off with my 3.5mm jack. Whenever I fully insert the jack, the volume starts to fluctuate if I move a bit. However, if I pull the jack out ever so slightly, it works just fine. The volume fluctuates when there is a little bit of pressure on the cable close to the jack itself. Any idea what may cause the problem? Also, would this be solved if I went with a a small, 25$ audio amplifier?
Also, it's not the headphones(Vsonic Gr02 bass, if you were wondering). They work fine with my PC and my old iPod Touch.
Sorry if this is already talked about, but I couldn't find anything with the description I gave to google.

Is it really? Most of the time, it works fine and I don't need to worry about the cable, it's just in select cases. Also, if it's broken, a LOD+amplifier would fix it, right?

I'd guess it's the headphone jack also. Mine is a bit flaky like yours - most of the time it's fine, just once in a while it goes out in one side or gets a bit noisy. Mine sits in a compartment in my car 90% of the time, so it doesn't get jostled very much, so it's ok for my use.
