Clip Zip - Trouble with MicroSD - 1. ExFat or FAT32? 2. Can't see card's songs.

njweb:
I just got an 8GB Sansa Clip Zip and installed RockBox (latest version 3.13).
I bought a 64 GB MicroSDXC card, after confirming compatibility, and copied a bunch of MP3's to it.

When I inserted the card into the Clip Zip, I did not see any card contents under the Rockbox menu's 'Files' option.

1. I thought I had read a suggestion to format the card as ExFat.
Will ExFat work for my 64GB MicroSDXC with Rockbox and Clip Zip, or should I reformat it as FAT32 which I have also seen mentioned?

2. The following might be due to an SD card formatting issue (see 1), but do the songs on the memory card need to be in a specific folder to be seen by the player?
Is there a folder naming convention for the SD card or should it not matter (so long as the card is correctly formatted).

I assume,I can use the 'Files' option in Rockbox to browse the MP3's on the card. From my reading, the 'Database' option just builds a database and from my experience (using the song on the players' INTERNAL memory) that allows me to search by album, artist etc.

Long story short, what format should the SD card be in (FAT32 or ExFat e.g.) and where should the MP3's be located on the card (folder structure and name e.g.) so I can see the songs when the card is inserted in my Clip Zip?

Thanks in advance!

Must be formatted as FAT32.

Thanks for the prompt response!
(Out of curiosity I'll check later on where and why  the ExFat suggestion came up then).

Aside from the format needing to be FAT32:
Is there any specific folder naming convention required in order for the MP3's, or other files on the card, to be visible to the Clip Zip when using Rockbox, or can I just name them whatever I like?

saratoga:
No naming convention is required.

Great, thanks!

I can't wait to listen to my songs after a long period of not doing so. :)

Now I just need to choose a theme that suits the Clip Zip.
Looks like either the Clean Screen or Fuzzy Logic theme would work best for my needs:
Given the small screen of the Clip Zip, I want a theme with legible fonts.
I did not realize just how small the Zip was till I received it.
