Clip Zip Install problem
« on: May 26, 2013, 10:51:26 AM »
I followed all the required procedures, changed the USB mode, set the mount point, downloaded the bin file, selected the themes, and clicked install on the utility. When it said it was complete, I ejected the device. and unplugged it. Now it will not power up and the computer says it can't recognize it as a USB device. What has gone wrong? Is there any way to recover from this or have I killed the Clip Zip for good? Any help would be much appreciated.

What did you see when you unplugged it?  Did it reboot itself and display any message?

If it didn't reboot then the install didn't happen yet and you are still running the Sandisk firmware. Probably just need to hold power until it comes on.

You are right. I left it connected to the computer and eventually I was able to turn it on and the computer has recognized it. Perhaps it was low on power, but it appears to be fully charged now. Should I go ahead and eject it and unplug it from the USB port?

All is well. I did eject and disconnect, the Clip Zip did reboot and the Rockbox software is now running. Thank you for your help and patience!
