ipod accessories - I'm sure you get lots of questions about this

Hi guys,

I've got a Harmon Kardon drive+play car interface thing which has a control joystick thingy and a monochrome display that replicate the display and controls on an ipod with the click wheel.

It's not clear from reading up about the accessory interface stuff how much of this I can expect to work -I don't expect all (pr any to be fair) of it to work as there is no mention of this accessory on your site but I would be curious to know (before I go buy a second hand ipod 4g greyscale) if other similar devices with displays can retrieve the song lists etc from the iPod or if only common commands like skip track etc are supported.

I'm an analyst programmer myself (familiar with C but not used it a great deal) and I have a 3 month sabatical coming up shortly so I could possibly provide a couple of days worth of dev time if there's hope for a reasonably complete solution over the horizon lol

really want rockbox to work for me as I am planning on digitizing my dad's LP collection into FLAC with a studio grade audio interface !

Incidentally the Harman Kardon dp has aux in which is why I bought it in the first place - i can connect up my android device to get audio played through my car stereo with an in-line fm transmitter.

No idea about that accessory.  You can find code people have worked on for IAP improvements in the patch tracker though:
