Can you please explain the "shit attitude" here? Messing with the bootloader is something that can easily brick your player. That's a fact. Nobody said you were unable to do that or too unexperienced. The only thing said was that you shouldn't try it if you don't have enough experience in that field. That's an advise, not an attitude. Since the risk of permanently bricking your player is really high you won't see any developer advise you to make such changes. After all these are the support forums, not development forums, and giving an advice that is risky is something that shouldn't be given in a support channel. You might not like that advise but that doesn't make it an attitude.

And for the record, I personally wouldn't do it myself without having access to (and a proven working setup of) development tools that allow me to salvage a broken system. Those development tools usually have a price tag in the range of thousands, and connecting it to a device assembled for an end user is at least problematic, if possible at all (since debugging connections might be missing or deactivated). And also for the record, I'm doing firmware / embedded development for a living.

Why assuming first I'm this "please do this and that, thx" guy? Maybe I did read the rules, maybe I just came asking something and not asking for something?

And maybe you are not and the question he already answered would have been the next you would have asked? Or someone else reading this thread in a couple of days? So if you want to "give the benefit of doubt", why aren't you doing so? He's answering a question you *might* have asked. In the case you would have asked it you already got the answer and don't need to ask. If not what's the problem in simply ignoring the answer to the question you're not interested in?

What's your problem with this answer? You asked two questions that could be answered with either "yes" or "no". saratoga did exactly this. What kind of response do you expect if you ask a question this way? The answer is technically complete in itself, and it answers your question completely. Interesting that you don't like [Saint] giving additional information ...

Why is it "being an ass" if he states (from experience) that there are no people in this forum around that would provide you the necessary binaries? It's a fact.

Stating that something is dangerous and you shouldn't do it unless you exactly know what you're doing (and are aware of the consequences if things fail) is "arrogant" these days? Even "super arrogant"? Seriously?

Stating that you shouldn't do things that *can* brick your player unless you know what you're doing is sensible and appropriate in my book. There are coffee cups stating "Warning: content may be hot". Is that arrogant? Super arrogant? Especially since I expect a coffee to be hot if I buy it?
