Sansa clip+ doesn't turn on (only when connected to PC)

(1/1)

Prolog:

I'm annoyed about my new sansa clip+. I had this model for a long time and I loved it but eventually it was dead. So I decided to buy a new sansa clip+.

Of course I install rockbox like before, of course I don't know how to install patch but I remember I did it in the past. Nevermind. This is not a problem for this topic.

Main:

It was everything ok, I took my clip for a run (no raining, no sweat - it was in the pocket). Fine, I go back to home, I turn off, 10 minutes later I turn on to check time - fine.

Several hours later I want to turn on my player - nothing. Like wtf? I'm trying to restart it - pushing off/on button. Nothing. I plug to the computer - finally is lighting up, but when it is on rockbox mode it disconnect after several seconds. I'm confused. I connect to the computer but pushing the left button - sansa firmware is on and it does not disconnect. I don't get it. Of course it still doesn't turn on without being connected to the computer.

I tried to install/reinstall/uninstall rockbox several times. Nothing. Update sansa firmware. Nothing. I was so desperate that I format my mp3 (yea, I know, no comments - it was stupid). I install again rockbox, but nothing really change.

I still can't turn on player! It it only 'on' when it it connected to the computer - even though when it is rockbox mode it turn down after several seconds (like it is impossible to reinstall rockbox in that mode, because it disconnect easily).

Any advise? Please, I'm in mess, I don't know what to do now. Any help?

I tried to recovery my clip+ with sansa recovery tool. Of course on my Windows 7 it didn't want to install, so I do it on XP. Unfortunately it didn't work either - 'sorry we were unable to recover your sansa device'.

No idea what to do now.

To be all clear:

Without micro sdhc card:

Have my mp3 not connected to PC --> press on/off button --> completely nothing

Connecting my mp3 to PC --> rockbox logo and upon that 'boot 4.0 --> (after several seconds) --> /fast/ rockbox logo and 'version 3.13'---> /changing so fast so I can't click anything/ rockbox on (menu) --> USB logo

Connecting to the PC but pressing the middle button --> rockbox menu (I'm able to choose options) --> after several seconds --> off

Connecting to the PC but pressing the left button --> sansa logo, this flower (dunno) or something logo, 'connected'/'writing' --> connected/sandisk logo

Connecting to the PC but pressing the left and the middle button (I'm that crazy!) --> sansa logo --> this flower something logo --> freezes --> and connecting/writing --> connected/sandisk logo

With my micro sdhc card:

Have my mp3 not connected to PC --> press on/off button --> completely nothing

Connecting my mp3 to PC --> rockbox logo and upon that 'boot 4.0' --> (after several seconds) --> rockbox logo and 'ver. 3.13'---> freeze ( my computer doesn't find anything connected) --> no change: rockbox logo + ver. 3.13

Connecting to the PC but pressing the middle button --> rockbox menu (I'm NOT able to choose options) --> after several seconds --> off

Connecting to the PC but pressing the left button --> sansa logo, this flower (dunno) or something logo --> refreshing your media (a progress bar is changing) --> sansa menu (changing to the next screen so fast, that I'm not able to choose anything) -->  'connected'/'writing' --> connected/sandisk logo

Connecting to the PC but pressing the left and the middle button -->  sansa logo --> this flower something logo --> freezes --> refreshing your media (a progress bar is changing) sansa menu (changing to the next screen so fast, that I'm not able to choose anything) --> --> connecting/writing --> connected/sandisk logo

Any idea how to turn on my mp3 without using the USB cable? Someone? Please

Have the same problem:

My Sansa SanDisk does only turn on when i connect it to usb. It shows that the battery is fully charged then though. I tried to reset it (holding on/off button pressed for 30 seconds) and I tried to start it in MSC mode and I downloaded the latest firmware put it on the root folder and tried to start it/ and connected it. Nothing helped. I bought the mp3 player 2 years ago. It happened like this before. then it worked again when I left it till the battery was completely empty, charged it again and it worked again. but then during playing some songs it turned itself off (while it was running with rockbox) even though the battery was still charged and now it does not turn on anymore. Tried to uninstall rockbox, it still does not turn on when not connected to the computer. Also not when I turn it on in original firmware mode. What can i do??? is there any other option for a reset? maybe connecting it to the computer without having it into "connected" mode but just using the computer as power source and then resetting it or something??? otherwise how can i discharge it maybe to reset/recharge it again?

Sounds like a broken power button.
