Too much too soon: loop short file

I'm a producer and I put a lot of 4-bar stuff on the Sansa Clip +, this works great. In general the 'looping' aka repeat single song works great. Now that I've once tried a 1-bar pattern it went wrong (don't flame, I was in the music store trying out the Maschine and exported and emailed to myself )
It seems maybe rockbox could 'remember' that next song is the same song, and keep a whole song in RAM maybe if it's not too long? My mp3 crashed trying to play this thing over and over (it was a .flac file) and also while it was still working, had different amounts of 'reading pauses' in between playing the loop.

Repeating a short files shouldn't be any different then just playing a lot of short files.  Does this problem happen with other files or is it specific to the one you tried?
