Problem installing of Clip Zip
dwl:
Hi,
I am having the same problem. Utility acts like it installs OK but nothing changes on Clip Zip.
I have a 8GB Clip Zip with no additonal memory card installed. Current Clip Zip version 01.01.20A. Downloaded binary from Sandisk 01.01.20 and saved as M:\Rockbox\clpza.bin. Changed Clip Zip USB mode to MSC. Utility detects Clip Zip (also installed manually selecting Clip Zip and get same result). Mountpoint set to M: Select to install only bootloader and Rockbox. When aksed for Sandisk binary, point to M:\Rockbox\clpza.bin. Install seems to work OK. Utility eject fails, so I ejected via PC.
Only the Sandisk OS is present after Rockbox install. No Rockbox files show up on MP3 file system. Copy of clpza.bin ends up on M:\ with same size but file date/time changed to when utility was run. Binary compare of the two clpza.bin indicates contents are different.
I have attached a log file for the installation. I have not tried a manuall install yet. Frankly, since the utility install does not work I am paranoid of trashing the player. I'm out of ideas and things to try. I would very much appreciate someone telling me what I am doing wrong.
Thanks

You have 48GB of free space on your 8GB Clip Zip?
Probably not. Either the file system is completely trashed or your clip zip is not M:\.

My PC has drives C: through M: (dual boot, disk redundancy, CD as G:, etc... it's a long story).
M: is where I put the Rockbox stuff.
My Clip Zip mounts as drive P:
Clip Zip file system is virtually empty for now (i.e. no music files), except for Sandisk stuff.
About 7.1GB free.

Well, you installed to M: :)

Thanks.
Sorry to have been so stupid on my end. For some dumb reason I took Mountpoint to be where the Rockbox utility was installed. I guess that explains all those files on the root of M: ;D
Thanks again...
