iPod Classic Database Compile Issue
« on: April 18, 2013, 08:09:26 AM »
Basically, the database is not compiling. It will get to the very last song, and then just sit on that number without doing anything else. I booted it using emCORE and then used their rockbox booter from their site. Any help here?

In the system menu you can turn on database logging, which will produce a log file showing what the database is doing.  The last entry in it may give you a clue as to why it stopped working.

I didn't find the debug log, but i did find the Database info and  it shows that once it gets to compiling around 92%, it will freeze, then show that it compiled al of my songs (9260 in my case) but the progress will be at -1%.

I have a similar problem with my Ipod Classic 160 GB.
When I update or initialize the database the database only gets updated to 87% or 10300~ songs and then it stops. No matter what I try (like renaming the folders, change the list limits, turn RAM loading on or off or whatever) the same thing happens.

Might it be that Rockbox is not optimized for such large amounts of data as the 160GB Ipod can store?
