Sansa Fuze v2 accidently deleted refrence to on board 8gig memory?
« on: April 07, 2013, 03:31:27 PM »
Title says it all, A while ago I noticed that I could no longer find my song files that were referenced in the 8 gigs of memory on my device (used an external sd card for most of my songs) I think I might have deleted something by accident in the song folder search, Is there any way to re-reference the file location?

So you know how you have internal memory, you know, default 4 - 8 gigs that you get just by buying the sansa fuze? Well I put music on there and while I was fooling around with the playlists or looking for music to add to a playlist in RockBox, I'm pretty sure I accidentally deleted the reference in memory to the entirety of the 8 gigs of music on my sansa, I cannot access the default ##MUSIC# file if I try to plug it into my computer to see the music not in my external micro sd.  Funny thing is, properties says I filled up the sansa itself with 6gigs of music, yet now there exists no file that references this music.  I think I can still look at the music internally from RockBox, I just cant add or remove music from the internal music folder on the sansa itself.

Theres no such thing as a reference to memory in this context.  In rockbox you just see the contents of the disk.  If you deleted everything no the disk, you would have 8GB of free space and no files.  If you didn't delete everything, you will have a lot less free space and a lot of files.

Are you using the Sandisk USB mode?  IIRC it hides the ##MUSIC# folder, since thats where it stores files in MTP mode.  In rockbox USB, its just a normal folder, although usually one you would have no reason to use.

That appears to have fixed the issue, I don't know why I thought I some how deleted the reference.
