No need to use annoying colours.
To put it the other way round: I'm not aware of any music player that runs on Linux that can't use / export playlists in m3u format.

to all who have responed THANKS.. for taking the time ... it is important..
I DESPISE APPLe'S and the products they make. i believe in open source and once i figure it out i will be writting Documentations to add to the manuals ..
i feel that the soultions is so simple most of us old FARTS can't figure it out..
my request to the developers is to have the code written so that playlist can be recgonized in any folder or file on any dstorae device internal or removable.

I'm having a slighty hard time understanding that sentence, but if you are asking what I think you are asking, then you already can.
A playlist can be anywhere on either storage, just navigate to it and select it.

First, we don't take feature requests. Second, what makes you believe this isn't possible? You might also want to reword your question for clarity -- as AlexP I'm also not completely sure if I got your question right.

You're comparing two completely different things here. Itunes is a software running on a PC. Rockbox runs on your player. If you want to compare Rockbox you need to compare it to the Apple firmware of the Ipod, not Itunes. Please be careful here. These kind of distinction is imporant on such topics.

once again THANKS FOR ALL WHO have REPLYED... i really enjoyed the feed back..
most of my post have been written in haste and without ceritan knowledge on the rockbox.
let me explain my situation..
i work in an information senitive enviroment .. and for reasons that would take to long to explain.. the employer prohibits any device that can record information (cell phones audio video DCIM) .. however were are allowed to carry cf/sdhc cards or thumb drive 16gb or smaller .they must contain personal files (mp3s mpeg4 dcim etc. ) that are inspected daily. (think TSA on roids without KY jelly)
i work in the manufacturing section of the facility and have a company issued MP3 player that acceptes the Mirco SD.(the player can not be removed off the work floor) i have about 8 gb of MP3's that i just completed removing from my old dell dj. this allows to transport my mp3's between the different players.
so this is my problem i can't get the rockbox to play the saved playlist on the microSD1 card when its inserted into the sansa fuze v2
this is what i have done.
1) installed the ROCKBOX using windows ( could not get a proper install with linux)
2) all the mp3's have been dragged and dropped onto the microSD that was formatted in FAT32 into a folder labled music (using linux based OS)
3) the playlists have been generated using BANSHEE ( linux based music manager ) and saved in the m3u8 and m3u formats
( both have returned the same results ) and placed the playlists in different folders ie main memory of the sansa fuze v2 ( not the root ) and the microSD
when ever i go to listen to a SAVED playlist the screen quickley flashed the 1st song on the playlist. with the <root> under the song title and then <root> again . the player then reverts back to what it was doing before or the main screen
the ROCKBOX displays all the saved playlist and i can scroll through the songs within that playlist ..its just the playlist will not play
what am i doing wrong ... is it so simple that i just don't see it the solution.
i have been searching the web; this forum and all the doc's i can find to correct the issues. but no joy.
i will say this about rockbox.. this is the best software/firmware for a portable device i have ever seen. it totatly open source. accepts most if not all known audio formats ; gives the owner the abality to customize the device . the list is endless ..
to all the DEVELOPERS thank you for your time and effort in creating an excellent product. i will be donating to the cause to ensure the project will live on.
as i am NEWBIE here ( like only 3 weeks old ) please be kind .. i have to learn the new verbage. so to whom ever i might offend or have offended i am truly sorry ..
thanks
