playlist FRUSTRATION
saratoga:
So basically you've made a playlist, but the player can't find any of the files in the playlist.
Stupid question: are you sure you've actually put those files on the player? If you open the playlist in a text editor, and then browse to the folders referenced, do the files exist (ignore drive letters, rockbox will disregard them)?
lefticy:
saratoga.. i have made several playlists and they show up anywhere i put them on in the file system.
when i make make a small folder of songs ( about 750gb.) and make a playlist with banshee then drag and drop that folder into the MAIN memeory of the player ; rockbox has no problem but when i repeat the process but onto the microSD card i get the same result as decsribed above..
here is a small section of the playlist that banshee generated.( copied from a text editor on the linux PC ) this DOSE NOT work with rockbox playlist file

i have placed the files all over the main memory and in the microSD card using my linux PC i just get the same result. Playlist creator via WINDOZ steps repeated ; returned a postivie result well .
what am i missing..
now i did find this http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,34616.msg198617.html#msg198617
which you started and highlights what i think is really going on. you have playlist that are generated by a PC program and saved as m3u8 into the removalbe memory but because the firmware dose not look for an external drive ( better yet dose not talk to it) we are getting the playlist issues.
evilnick:
The difference between the playlist files seems to be the directory "music".
Is there a "music" directory on the main (internal) memory of the player? I'm guessing that there is and this is why the Windows-generated playlists work correctly.
Is there a "music" directory on the microSD card? I'm guessing that there isn't.
Something else to try would be to create a playlist of the files on the microSD card on Rockbox and save this playlist to the microSD card - then see what the difference(s) are between that and the ones that you're creating under linux.
lefticy:
should i delete the /music or create a /music within the microsd1 card ??
