Ipod Video 60G: Rockbox only recognizes half of the battery on startup
(1/1)

Hi,
I have a strange problem with my Ipod Video 60G. When booting it, rockbox always regognizes only half of the battery capacity.
For example, if the Ipod is fully charged, rockbox shows me that it is half full on startup. If the battery really is only half full, rockbox recognizes it as nearly empty on startup.
The interesting thing is that rockbox recognizes the correct capacity on runtime. So after a few minutes the battery display is correct (it grows with time).
The problem is, when booting into rockbox it shuts down again due to a low battery, even if it is still half full!
This isn't related to the battery itself or the version of rockbox. I had this problem with the original Ipod battery, as well a custom battery when I needed to replace the original one. Also this problem exists, since I use rockbox which was about 2008.
It also seems that the Original Firmware doesn't suffer from this problem (I can't test it anmyore, since my Hold Button is broken, and I can't boot in the Original Firmware).
Also the battery capacity setting in rockbox doesn't seem to have any influence on this.
So what is going wrong here?

Does really nobody have an idea?

Probably some problem with one of the ADC channels on your iPod. Thus isn't something people are going to be able to do much for, although if you're interested in trying to hack around the problem you could probably disable checking the battery voltage or try reading a different channel.
