Sansa Fuze plus Lock Button
« on: March 04, 2013, 04:55:06 AM »
Hi,

I am using Rockbox verson: 3a13150-130228 (i think is the last one) in my Sansa Fuze Plus and it works fine but the lock button.

Is it posible to lock the device while listening to the radio? It works great while playing music, but I couldn't lock the divece while listening to the radio.

Thanks in advance
Will

This is a known problem, we have had some thinking about it but no one has implemented it yet. I hope we'll be able to do so soon.

Hi,

I strongly support this request. I mostly use my Fuze+ to listen to the radio. I installed Rockbox out of curiosity, and I like its "technical" look, light feel, and much faster boot time than the original firmware. But with lock unavailable in the radio mode I have boot into original firmware anyway, and I am contemplating getting read of RB.

Hi,
I am the developer of the Fuze+ port, a solution to the radio lock problem has been found and will be committed tomorrow if no one objects (which should be the case). This is not perfect but will make the radio much more usable I hope.

Not to diverge from the OP much but out of curiosity, is there a fix yet for the "first button press turns screen on" bug?  It's pretty annoying, and has perhaps the most direct impact on usability of any of the current issues I've noticed.

Hi,
I basically know what is the root of the "first button press" bug (timing issue), but I don't yet know how to solve it reliably. I hope to come up with a solution by rewriting some of the backlight and button code, we'll see.

The radio lock button has make it into the trunk. You need to get the latest daily build to use or to wait for the next release.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Since the implementation of the lock buttom on the radio screen, now I only use this firmware, and I update it almost weekly.

I am very happy with how it is improving.
For me the only main issue is that with some updates when I plug in the sansa to the USB computer, it stop charging...

Thanks for adding it. Any chance to allow hardware volume buttons to operate when buttons are locked? In other words, I would prefer the lock to apply only to the touchpad.

By the way, if one unlocks and then quickly locks the buttons again (for example, to adjust the volume only), the message [Buttons Locked] appears on top of the [Buttons Unlocked] message, which looks a bit awkward.
